Aggravated the stormy girl realized her efforts were in vain. Her anger turned to fear for her brother when different colored eyes noticed the the sharks. "Adelric watch..!" Before she could finish her brother ran from the water, but once again another adversary was coming towards him. Leaping forward she stood beside the bay boy and screamed her defiance at the white beast. Throwing herself forward head turned slightly to the right, aiming her horn directly at it's leg, she raced forward. She knew instinctively that is wouldn't be a good thing to stab the creature, but swipe and cut it. A vision of her stuck to the thing's leg flashed through her mind. It was almost comical, besides it ended with her head being smashed in with the club.

Racing passed the creature, hopefully unhurt, and her horn bloody, the girl tried to run well out of the brutes reach. it sure wouldn't be a good thing if she stopped to close and it could hit her with that massive club. Skidding to a stop on the slippery snow Zunden turned quickly back eyes darting towards Adelric trying to make sure he was alright. She would never forgive herself if he got hurt because of her failures. The orb was all but forgotten when she worried about her dear brother. She would kill the yeti even allow her own life to end, if that would save him. Snorting her barbed-wire marked leg stamped threatening at the ground daring the abominable snow thing to come at her.

It was all happening so fast, so much so that she nearly forgot what the initial goal had been. Before she could even think there were sharks surrounding the glacier, attempting to go for the boy in the water. Without thinking she dove down towards him, tiny hooves splayed out in an attempt to kick the shark's fins. She tried to be quick, pounding the slate daggers at whatever she could hit, before pulling away as soon as the colt had escaped. Taking a breath of relief, she thought the worst was over, until a harsh roar nearly shattered her tiny eardrums. Swiftly turning her crown to the right she saw it, a massive beast ambling with massive strength and speed; straight for Mauja and Kahlua.

" No!" she cried, flapping her wings as hard as she could muster to gain speed, to do anything she could to stop the beast from hurting them. Landing directly in front of the duo she spread her wings out in an attempt to look bigger, face filled with determination as she was ready to take the beast head on. She didn't care if she failed, if the behemoth was thrice her size, she wasn't going to let it hurt her friends. Taking in a deep breath she watched, ready for impact, when a unicorn came lashing forward and attempted to attack it. Following her lead she burst forward, kicking her hooves inches from its face, egging it on so that it would follow her. Ears flattened against her skull she snorted, making sure she had caught the yeti's attention before flying back towards the glacier.

Summary: Flew in to try and kick the shark's fins to keep them away from Erebos, then flew in front of Kahlua and Mauja to shield them from the yeti. Upon seeing Zunden attack and then try to coax the yeti to the glacier, she attempted to kick him in the face to get his attention before trying to lead him to the glacier.

The girl felt it humming, calling for her, its life-force powerful and strong, yearning, clawing, reaching for her. As the dragon's fire made the layers of ice that separated it from the rest of the world thinner, she could almost hear it, like an addict's drug, calling her name. Amaris, it called, look out!
-- That wasn't the orb, but her dragons, having spotted the sea-monsters below, and the great ape creature above the ice. Guilt tore through the girl, swift and lancing - why, every time something like this happened upon Helovia, did something have to die? Why was the trade-off always to be paid in death and destruction?

Was it worth it?

It had never been worth it to the girl. Memories flickered through her mind of the great monster-like creature that had come through a doorway, cradling in its midst an egg that surely contained a creature capable of bonding - the girl remembered the hours she spent washing the thick, black ichor of the beast from her scythe in the ocean, and then later, at the Throat. She didn't want to have to wash the blood of this abominble snowman off her reaper's weapon as well.

So instead, she ignored the yeti, and turned her attention instead to the shapes that swam beneath the colt. Worry shot through her now, mingling with her guilt to create an anxious storm that twirled and rampaged about her heart. As her dragons continued to use their heat to make the ice thinner, she flew towards the water, towards the colt who was fleeing for his life. Following in swiftly behind the butterfly-winged girl, Amaris did similar to the speckled belle, only after she had struck out with her hoof, she followed through with her tail - even daring to swipe with her scythe so that the shark might taste what it was like to be bitten by something most certainly nearly as sharp as its own teeth. She didn't want to draw blood, but she had to protect the colt - every motion she made she claimed in her mind was for defending those who would otherwise suffer.

But did that mean that the shark would suffer instead? Obviously, she thought sadly, however, unable to take back the motions she had already made, she simply kept flying onwards, finally taking in the scene (that had turned quite turbulent swiftly) from her perch in the skies above.

The yeti was merely a distraction. It was called upon by the orb in hopes that it would distract everyone's attention. It had failed in that regard, as many continued to try and push and prod it away and out of the ice. Didn't they understand that the ice was helping? That it wanted to sink into the black frigid waters and no longer have to burn ? For a lifetime its radiance had been coveted, and now it seemed, would be redeemed.

Regardless of how badly the whatever sort of sentience we can ascribe to the orb, wanted to drown itself in the water, if that goal was to be ultimately frustrated and its power transferred to one gathered, at the very least the orb wanted to be able to chose all on its own.

The darkness within Adelric called to it. If its flame couldn't be doused by the water, perhaps it could be dimmed by whatever oddity stirred in the half-child's soul. With a burst of light the orb eliminated the glacier throwing shards of ice every which way, causing the sharks to scatter.

The yeti, sufficiently wounded and confused by the group, lumbered away wailing painfully. It had only come because the orb projected that it was in danger ... the creature had not wanted to fight.

[ Because I am a sucker for IC conclusions to every thread, yes. ]

It was a drum-beat of destruction, a loud crack and boom rocking and splitting the world upon which they stood; the creature was abominably strong, each swing of that club a death-sentence for any unlucky enough to get caught underneath it. Mauja winced each time it struck the ice beneath them. He could almost feel it split in his heart, neat fractures mixing with ruins and craters—and each time the voice within boomed louder, not her, not her, not her.

Not that he had to worry—she was right beside him, and.. Myrrine was in front of them, a small, living shield made of flesh and courage.

Not her, either, his heart whispered fervently.

What had happened to him? Once, he had ruled their home, and he had been as cold as these glaciers, as uncaring, and their lack of a horn would've spelled out their end for them anyway. The yeti would've been the perfect ruse to cover up his crimes.

And yet there he stood, blue eyes snapping this way and that, his heart pounding all the way up in his throat because he did not want to lose them.

Turns out he had a heart after all.

The world came apart in a burst of light.

Eyes snapped shut, and, startled, he lost touch with his magic—only the dark hunger remained somewhere beneath his heart, an ache in the back of his throat, a wolf's breath coming just half a second behind his own. Slabs of ice collided painfully with his chest, his side, his haunches, a brutal reminder of his own fragility (and a shitload of pending bruises). When he opened his eyes again, the glow, the light he had wanted so badly, was gone; only cracks remained in the thick glacial ice, wounds and scars caused by their mortal greed.

And the creature was lumbering away, looking confused and hurt. Mauja could smell its blood—and his own guilt.

He had helped cause this.. these fractures, these shards of ice strewn about, and even if his birds of fire had not reached the beast, his very presence had helped injure it.

"Let it go," he called, tiredly—it was not innocent either, but the disappearance of the light had seemed to mollify its aggression. "There's nothing more for us here."

And with that, he turned to nose Kahlua, and leave.
