Her worries were unfounded, it seemed. The filly relaxed and smiled shyly back as the adults replied to her query, one after the other. Pale orbs fixed upon Miykael when he, as the only one to offer any kind of positive response, gave her a bit of the information she had sought.
"Magic, huh... What kind of magic? What does it do?"
There was a longing, almost greedy tone to the young girl's voice as she eyed the paint. How she wished that she too possessed these extraordinary abilities. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to make the air crackle and sizzle with energy, to make fires and lights flare and dance across the sky? To make monsters and evil gods fall to their knees, and make the sick healthy again. Herbs were probably well and good, but in this magical world with magical maladies, they didn't count for much.
On the subject of maladies, it seemed that suddenly the attention of everyone had turned to hers. Blinking back rather sheepishly as four pairs of eyes came to rest on her, Erthë thought about it for a while. It sure would be nice to get rid of the cough and the sniffling and the weird glow about things that appeared every now and then. While it was kinda neat to be able to see colors that weren't normally there, it was also beyond annoying to have that mucus rattle in the lungs. Tiring, debilitating...
But then her gaze traveled to Nephele, and the filly smiled.
"It's okay, I'm fine really" she said, only to have a horrible coughing fit contradict her words. "R-really though!" she insisted, once she was able to breathe again. "I'm already sick and it's not so bad, I can wait a bit longer. Heal Ne-fe-le first instead, so she can go to a herd and make a home and be happy too!"
It wouldn't be fair to let a new person get sick when they just arrived, and as much as Erthë had been annoyed with the black mare for not being her mother, she appreciated the reassurance that her wings would grow. While it did feel a bit disappointing to give up a chance to be cured, it also made her feel mighty good and generous and helpful to give it to someone else.
Mother would praise her if she'd heard her, for sure.
