Ranjiri and Laedare. Ah, yes. I had heard a great deal about Ranjiri (although we always seemed to miss one another). As for Laedere, well, I couldn't help but smile. I had accompanied her on a patrol and she was a sweet soul. It fit her character perfectly, from what I had been able to see, to escort a new member to the Throat. Her absence, however, made me curious. Perhaps even a bit wary. I kept my unease to myself, though. Jumping to conclusions was an awful habit and I was trying to shake it.

Ave landed next to me and I unconsciously took a step closer to the blazing Sultan. Silently, I listened to the stranger as he seemed to panic at my father's presence. He bowed and I nodded. Good, he knew his place. Then again, there were not many who could stand up to the strength of my father's aura: his pressure made even the unruly yield.

Spots of bright, vivid gold entered my vision as a mare descended upon our little gathering. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you. Should I fetch a medic to look at your wing?" Based on how she spoke, and going on her appearance alone, I assumed this mare must be Ranjiri. Finally, I let myself relax. If the daughter of the great Midas approved of the stallion then I could afford to let my defenses down (albeit not all the way). However, there was one concerning factor left.

"Where is Laedere?" She arrived with neither the potential new recruit or the artisan. "I have not seen her return." While I had been patrolling I hadn't seen a single sign of the pale mare. Of course, it was a possibility that my eyes just simply missed her or we had somehow passed each other.
