Aryel watched as the bird flew up, the strange necklace clasped in it's beak. "Hey, wait up!" laughed the mare, turned and galloping again. Her wings unfurled, pumping the air. Taking flight was difficult in a forest, but she caught sight of a small clearing that would provided just enough space. She jumped in time with each downstroke, whinnying as her hooves finally left the ground.
Aryel spiraled upwards in a wide circle, her legs still galloping as if she was running in the air. Her wide, powerful wings caught an updraft and she managed to draw level with the bird. She put on another burst of power, gliding around the avian and ending in a flapping hover in front of it. "Watch this!" she cried, folding her wings and diving, angling into a spin. Diving always gave her vertigo, though, so she angled into a climb before she went too far. No sense in impaling herself on the trees.
