The astral body seemed to bubble with mirth at the mare's athletic game. It chirped a hollow symphony, a mellifluous sonnet so diverse from the one composed by more terrestrial birds. This one - a living constellation; this incandescent, celestial body - almost seemed other-worldly: no doubt a creature conceived from the nebulas. It too dove down toward the mare, before taking off toward a field of alabaster which lay beyond the vast palisade of trees below them.

The Deep Forrest stretched for what seemed like an eternity beneath them.

The bird soared merely feet from the trees' barren limbs and the spires of evergreens, its speed rather anomalous, though the mare would likely have no problems keeping up - pegasus can fly faster than the average bird... but then again, Columba was no average bird.
