Aryel watched as the bird dropped the necklace at her hooves. "It's beautiful." she said, entranced by it's gentle purple glow. A flutter of wings alerted her that the bird was leaving again. And this time, she could tell, it didn't intend for her to follow. "Wait!" She called up to it as it disappeared. Don't go! Who are you?" What are you?
And then she was alone again.
With a sigh, she looked down at the amulet again. It was a gift, and it certainly was pretty. She nudged her nose under it, then lifted her head and let the chain slide down her neck to rest at her shoulders. She felt...what? Protected? She had never experienced ward magic before and didn't recognize it now, she just knew that the necklace gave her a feeling of security. She snorted, and chalked it up to just have an active imagination.
The snow had begun to fall in earnest down, and the temperature had dropped. Chilled, Aryel began heading southwest to look for shelter.
