Tsavo is a strong-boned and strong-willed unicorn mare. Her build and her appearance reflects her heritage growing up on the plains of Dorobo. She has the strength and endurance of a desert breed with the elegance and clean lines of a fine-boned warmblood. Tsavo bears similar coloring to that of a nyala antelope, sporting the same antlers.

Tsavo has the heart of a lioness, having had to fill the shoes of a male heir her entire life. Though she's lived a privileged life, it's never been an easy one. She's fought tooth and nail for acceptance and has had to develop ways to ensure her voice is heard. She knows how to work from the shadows, but does just as well before a crowd. Tsavo is a proud creature, and often has trouble admitting her failures and her flaws - of which there are many. She is unwaveringly loyal to those who have earned her trust. Once broken, however, that trust is difficult to earn back. It is certainly not given freely.

H I S T O R Y
Tsavo was born to a wealthy, powerful family in Dorobo from one of the tribes of the plains that had always been considered favored. Her family, though they were longtime leaders in the nearly entirely male-dominated government, had no come Tsavo’s generation - only daughters. So, as the eldest, Tsavo just stepped up and assumed the role that a son would have filled had one been born. She served in government even though it was an arena dominated with males, splitting the representative role with other males in her family.

Tsavo rose through the ranks in government to have a moderately powerful role, though many kept her at arms length because of her sex and her age. Others confided in her specifically because they thought her to be weak. Certainly a woman would pose no threat? So, Tsavo learned quickly to use her gender to her advantage, using her sex to get close to those important in government. What was once a disadvantage became an advantage unique to her. She was able to get close to even the most reclusive members of the council using her charm and her sharp mind.

She was not a heartless creature, seducing her way through government and leaving a trail of broken hearts in her wake. Tsavo secretly began a relationship with a member of one of the Eastern Plateau tribes, a fact that would have ruined her relationship with her family and cost her place in the government. The pegasi of the plateau were not friendly to those in the capital – they wanted nothing more than to see the government crumble. In the plains, women were not treated as simply an ornament or a means to produce children. Women were valued. They were powerful. And Kunja offered Tsavo the acceptance and equality that Tsavo had always wanted with open arms. She fell quickly. Foolishly so.

She did not hide this relationship as well as she thought she had. Her growing affection for one of the rebels was exploited by a stallion named Tembovu. A stallion who was trying to dismantle the government of Dorobo from the inside. Tembovu threatened to reveal her if she did not provide the information he needed on particular council members – information that could topple the government from the inside. One word from him would be her ruin. Yet, Tsavo was intrigued. She had little love for the government as it was, and if the government were to be dismantled she’d be free to be with Kunja. So she agreed to help Tembovu on one condition – she be kept informed on his plans for Dorobo if she passed information to him. A two sided exchange. So a deal was struck. Eventually, this world of shadows and secrets lead to a tryst between the two and the relationship reached a point where there was no more they could offer the other.

They parted ways. Dorobo fell apart at the seams. It was all going exactly as it had been planned. Until the secrets emerged from the shadows – determined to have their moment in the sun. Tsavo’s indiscretion with Tembovu was somehow revealed to Kunja. Kunja revealed himself to be an unforgiving man, and cast her out. Tsavo returned to the broken capital an outcast. She kept her head high, unwilling to crumble beneath the weight of her own shame and the scorn of the others. Her family, her status, her rank in government in society – all gone. She had nothing left. No love. No home. Nothing.

Functionally outcasted, Tsavo was wary and watched for any opportunity to change the sorry circumstances she found herself in. Until one day she spotted a familiar face making for the border - Kiuaji, another prominent face and another associated with Tembovu – and decides on a whim to follow the stallion. Perhaps he knew of something she didn’t. Perhaps he knew of something better out there…

C O M P A N I O N

Pictured here as an adult, Eshe is a rambunctious little one with a great thirst for fun and adventure. She's brave, for one so young, and innately curious about the world around her. Unlike her bonded, Eshe displays a relatively carefree attitude about life and has a mischievous streak. More in line with her bonded, the little lion is known to be sassy towards others but can turn that sass back on her bonded when called for. Eshe has tawny colored fur with lighter points, though she is darker across her back. She has yellow-gold eyes and sees much better in the dark than her bonded does in her equine form. Eshe has a sleek build, compared to other lions, and is extremely agile prefers to use speed instead of strength.

As she develops, Eshe will help provided a voice of reason for her bonded. The little lion hasn't been exposed to the corruption and abuse her bonded has seen. Her experience in her youth will help her provide a steadfast but impassioned voice to Tsavo. Eshe will grow into the loyal companion and confidant that Tsavo has never had.
