Dorobo was once a great land but has long since fallen into chaos. Nature cries out in despair as blood stains the soil. The unicorns of the plains had long grown greedy with power and lacked the ability to cultivate their lands. They stripped their territory of all nourishment and sought to claim the Eastern Plateaus and Southern Forests as their own.

Stories whispered in hushed tones of the Korofis', the winged ones', savagery. This was not true in all parts however Mkali lived deep enough in the wilds that she experienced her fair share. From a young age "survival of the fittest" was embedded into her head. Without lessons, she was simply pushed from a high plateau in hopes that she would learn how to fly. Many foals didn't make it, although the sight would eventually be washed away by worse horrors.

Education was important, too. It kept their herd apart from the true savages. She learned of the Makutano and that they were the true predator, the true threat.

Naturally they saw it differently.

With her own eyes she saw the destruction they wrought and swore to take on any role that may help in the process of fending them off their territory; whether it be slinking around like a spy or dive bombing the pointed beasts from above. While she did not take place in any pivotal battles, the tussles she got in were enough to convince her of her allegiances.

When news of Makuntano's defeat reached her small team the victory did not last long. Only more conflict was to come. Her blood boiled at the savagery of her fellow Korofis. Weary and uncertain of the future, the band she fought with disbanded and fled deeper into the wilds. As for Mkali? She flew and didn't dare to look back at her crumbling homelands she had tried to save.
