Aryel is blue roan in color, with a compact body and light bones. Her pelt is a steely grey with notable blue tinting, and from the knees down, fades to a darker black-blue. Her tan hooves are ringed with four white socks with slight feathering present in her Frostfall coat, and a white blaze traces it's way from her soft pinkish nose to end under her mussy blue-black forelock. This forelock sometimes hangs down into her bright black eyes, giving her an open, tomboyish look.
Her mane and tail are the same shade of dark blue, and small down feathers of the same color grow within her mane and tail, not visible from a distance. Woven into her mane, just behind her right ear, is an eagle feather, white with a dark brown tip. Her feathered wings are blue-black as well, and her shoulders have developed some extra muscle to compensate for their weight. Her bones are hollow to aid in flight, but this means she is more likely to break a bone. Along the top and bottom of her wings winds an exotic silver tribal design of swirls and dots that looks like this: http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j420/Vanillawolf77/AryelWings_zps879096fc.png The design is symmetric for both wings.
On the whole, she looks somewhat scruffy, but there is a determined air about her. Her coat does not change in Frostfall, but it becomes thicker and a few shades darker.
Aryel is a hotblooded one, always ready to explore somewhere or get into a fight. She tends not to think before acting, which can lead to her crossing a border by accident or mouthing off to the wrong horse.
She can seem almost childish at times, with a disregard for danger, or even common sense. She's not as stupid as she looks, though, and hates to be out-thought.
Under this firey exterior lies a more gentle personality, although she tends not to drop her guard unless she's with a close friend. Don't ever threaten her friends or family, though. It's the quickest way to bring out her true battle fury.
Aryel is about as close to an atheist or someone can be who has seen the gods in person. She only grudgingly acknowledges their apparent superiority over the mortals, and believes that only the Earth God has any real shred of worth as a being.
Sire: Bucephalus (lead stallion of Redrock) Blue dun stallion with clawed leathery wings and grullo leg barring
Dam: Ariessa (lead mare of Redrock) Blue roan pegasus with more contrasting color than Aryel, and a dark head as well.
Siblings: None out of Ariessa, but three from Bucephalus's other mates; Storm, Mara, and Ascleipus.
Offspring: None biologically, but she has one adopted son, Oras.
Aryel was born in a small herd of mostly pegasi nestled in a place called Redrock Valley some distance from the Helovian lands. For pegasi, they rarely traveled much, and going outside the herd's home range was even frowned upon. This of course, did nothing to dissuade a young Aryel from adventuring beyond their borders, and nearly getting killed a few occasions. As she grew, her mother the Lead Mare, who loved Aryel but was a rather strict, overbearing sort, paired her daughter up with a stallion named Kai, a childhood friend no less, hoping that having a family to raise would keep her errant daughter out of harm's way.
Aryel cared for her mother, but did not like this at all.
Kai was somewhat unsettled by the whole thing as well, and she was able to convince him to help her escape. They left one afternoon, and Kai rolled around in the dust while Aryel trampled the ground, making it look like a fight had happened. He went home to tell them that she had attacked him and run off, and Aryel left the herd lands for good.
Kai is currently raising a family with a sweet palomino mare, and Aryel is enjoying her life on the road.
